Third Trimester, Here We Come!
We had our 28 week check up this today and all is GO! Connor's heart beat sounds good, Mom is putting on weight (whatever), no gestational diabetes, no anemia. All is good. I'm still feeling very good, like almost too good, like I forget I'm pregnant. So we are not officially in the 3rd trimester, which is awesome. Only 2 1/2 more months of work!!!

Childbirth class
We started our 3 part series Childbirthing class at the hospital last week. It's a nice class. We reviewed the stages of labor last week and Steve got to see a live birth on video (only a short version of crowning and delivery). He didn't pass out, which was a good sign. Then this week we talked about every possible intervention that they could do in the labor/delivery period. That was a little intimidating, hearing about all the stuff you don't want to see or have done (forceps, vacuum, internal monitors, etc). I've decided my birth plan will be short and sweet: "Get the baby out as naturally as possible with the least number of interventions necessary for a safe delivery of a healthy baby and mommy." I want to be totally flexible to whatever happens, but also not do things that are unnecessary. Steve agrees. Next week the class is talking about baby care and a pediatrician is coming to talk, but Steve has to go to Atlanta for work so I think I will skip out. I don't want to be a single pregnant lady in the midst of 6 other pregnant couples. Next class, Infant/Child CPR next Saturday.

Toronto Mini-Vacation

Steve had some work to do at the Toronto Public Health Dept this past weekend and since I had the weekend off, I decided to tag along. We had been to Toronto a couple years ago (in dead of winter) and LOVED the city, so we figured we'd love it in the summer too. It was real warm (but uncharacteristically, not that humid) but we had a great time. We walked A LOT! Saw the sites, ate at some nice restaurants (it happened to be "Summerlicious" or restaurant week and all the gourmet restaurants had cheap pre-fixed menus. The city is clean, friendly, and easy to walk around. Lots to do and see. We got some belly laughs in at a comedy club too.
