Who's that?

Connor is officially obsessed with his reflection in his new mirror (thanks to Santa). He also is in love with his new giraffe toy. So much so that he grabbed her! That's right, Connor is officially grabbing for toys now! He's growing up so fast, hehe.

Connor's First Christmas

Here are some pics from Connor's first Xmas. We went to church, went to Grandma and Grandpa Sanders' house for lunch and presents and went to the Justice's house for dinner with the whole holiday gang. We got to spend a nice Christmas Eve with Grandma and Grandpa Cox too.

Happy 30th Daddy!

Steve turned 30 on Dec 6. We didn't do much celebrating on that day b/c it was a Tuesday but we snapped a picture of Dad with Connor. I surprised Steve with a nice private event at Gary Danko's restaurant in San Francisco on Saturday. We got a cooking lesson from Gary Danko himself, passed appetizers and champagne, and then a nice private 4 course meal with paired wines. My parents watched baby Connor so he was in very good hands.

The Cousins meet Santa

On Friday we went to Tiny Tots boutique and met Santa with the whole gang. It was tricky getting the 3 kids to all be happy/smile/not cry at the same time. Here's what we got...

2 Months Old!

I can't believe that Connor is 2 months old already. He is a growing boy and he is developing normally. He has started to really smile a lot (in the mornings especially). He is starting to look at the pictures and likes to listen to books. He also discovered some toys on his bouncy chair and he loves to stare at them. He especially likes a yellow and orange striped duck toy. He has started to "coo" back at Steve and I too.

Meeting Santa, and taking a nap

Connor met Santa for the first time on Monday. He went with his girlfriend/future wife, Charley. Connor was sleeping so Santa laid down to take a snooze too for the picture.

Connor's Baptism

Connor was baptized this Sunday at my childhood church, Walnut Creek United Methodist. It meant so much to me having my son baptized at the same church I was and where I have had so many meaningful moments (including my marriage to Steve). We had all our closest friends (except for some who were unable to come due to prior commitments) and family there at the service and we also had a nice lunch at Back Forty BBQ (thanks to our parents). Connor slept through most of the baptism but woke up when the water touched him. No crying though, which was nice. He enjoyed visiting with his friends and family at the lunch too.

Happy Turkey Day!

Connor's first Thanksgiving was a hit.
We started the holiday out with a visit from Grandma and Grandpa Sanders at our house. They watched Connor while mommy made her yummy pies (Strawberry Rhubarb and Maple Pumpkin). Then Thanksgiving Eve dinner at Fuzia in Morgan Hill where we ate tons of yummy Italian fare made especially for our group (a Cox family group). Connor got to meet his Auntie Laurie for the first time and they hit it off. Connor fell asleep as we walked in and woke up as we walked out, perfect baby.
The next day we spent the morning at home while Daddy made his delicious stuffing and shredded brussel sprouts. Then we went over to Grandma and Grandpa Cox's for a yummy day of eating and relaxing. Connor didn't get to try any of the yummy food but he still was well fed.
Then Black Friday we headed up to Concord and Daddy went to golf with Grandpa and Uncle Tim. Connor and Mommy spent the day with Auntie Katie, Josh, Cameron and Grandma Sanders. We played around the house, ate left overs, took a nap, and went for a walk around the neighborhood. A great holiday!

Connor's first UFC event and our first night out

This weekend our friend, Kyle Kingsbury, fought at UFC 139 at HP Pavilion (he's a professional MMA fighter). We went to the weigh-ins at HP on Friday and brought little Connor along. He slept almost the whole time in his stroller and the carrier. Saturday night Steve and I went out to the fights and left baby Connor for the first time at home with Grandma and Grandpa Sanders. We had a great time but it was nice to come home to our little man. Connor did well, slept, ate, fussed and smiled while we were gone.

Cousins!

Connor got to hang out with his cousins, Josh and Cameron, today. We went to Chuck E Cheese and watched Josh play the games. Cameron and Connor napped while we were there. Then Josh took a nap while Connor and Cameron played on the couch.

Smiley boy

Connor has been a smiley boy this week, especially in the morning. He has also gotten more of a "routine" down and is sleeping in 2 "chunks" of time at night (about 3-4hr stretches at a time).

Mommy and Baby yoga.

Connor and I went to our first yoga class today. It was so nice for me to get out and moving (I have actually missed exercise). I'm not sure how much Connor took from the class, but it will get better when he is more interested in things other than eating, pooping, and sleeping. He slept for about 20 mins in the beginning and then when he woke up naturally he wanted to eat (luckily the class is geared towards making things easy for moms so I nursed him in the class while doing some yoga poses, ha what a sight), and then he just cried for a while b/c he had a lot of gas...farting in yoga practice is normal but Connor hasn't mastered the art of making them silent! All in all it was fun and different, we will keep trying.

1 Month!

In an effort to keep track of Connor's size, we chose this wooden C to put in his monthly photo shots. Happy 1 month!

All dressed up

Connor got dressed up in his first collared shirt and vest for Steve's company's training class dinner at Grandpa and Grandma Cox's house last week. He's becoming quit the spiffy dresser now that he is growing out of his newborn clothes, he has more selection.

Smiley guy

Connor flashed his first smile (while awake) and it was awesome! He's been smiling a lot when he sleeps but Saturday morning he was laying on the bed at the hotel, looking up at me and flashed a big smile, and then another and another. Then while I was in the shower he did some smiles for daddy too, and Steve got some on camera. I must admit, I'm not sure he was smiling at us or if it was the window behind us. He was captivated all weekend by the sunlight coming through the window in our hotel room. Connor also showed off his rolling over skills and I got it on video again as evidence for our pediatrician. Since babies don't usually roll over until 3 months he told us it was probably a fluke that he rolled over before, but he has done it many times now. Pretty much every time I put him on his tummy he rolls himself to his back. Apparently he dislikes tummy time.

On our way home

Our trip to San Diego was a success. Even though it rained, we still got to see lots of friends and daddy got to do some work. Connor and i hung around the hotel most of the time because it was rainy and cold but it was a nice hotel and a nice change of scenery. Steve worked during the days and we all went to dinner and drinks on Thursday, a "business event" at the aquarium on Friday and went over to Laurel and Michael's for sushi on Saturday night. Connor and I also went for a walk with Laurel and Desmond and also got to visit with Liz and Cori on Saturday morning while dad was working. The drive was manageable as Connor slept almost the whole ride up and back. He was great all weekend, thanks to the Ergo baby carrier and the Wubbanub "monkey binky" which we have named George. Connor was very popular around his first Microbiology conference (that's what Steve was working at all weekend) because Grandpa Cox was telling everyone about his genius grandson. This was his first of many many trips to come so we are happy to expose him to new and different things even though he is so young. photos to come...

San Diego or bust!

This weekend Steve has a work conference in La Jolla. Connor and I decided that after a hectic week we needed a vacation too. We left the house at 5 this morning and have only stopped once so far for some nursing and a diaper change (and mom and dad ate and got gas). Now we are in LA traffic. Connor has been sleeping the whole way so far....we will see if that last the last leg of the trip, I will keep you posted.
Update: Connor slept the entire drive up, didn't even wake up until we were checked in and got up to the hotel room and unpacked.

Grandparents

Connor hung out with his Grandparents from both sides last Sunday. Connor snuggled with his new puppy mat with Gma and Gpa Sanders. Brooklyn got in on some loving too with Gma and Gpa Cox.

Me and my "big pup"

Our first child, Brooklyn, is still getting used to our newest family addition. He has been pretty timid around Connor but also more protective of the household. He barks louder when he hears someone outside and gets more "excited" when people come over. He is very gentle around Connor and has only licked the side of his face when mom and dad are close by. When Connor first came home, he used to leave the room as soon as Connor entered the room. It's been hard to get pictures of the 2 of them together because Brooklyn is a bit timid/shy around Connor. This picture is a perfect example of that.

Bath time

One of Connor's first bath times, in the kitchen sink!

I rolled over...and Mom got it on tape!

Connor has rolled over a couple times since about 2 weeks but today I got it on camera! He dislikes tummy time but I kinda force him into it a little bit, I guess he figured out how to get out of it!

Happy Halloween,,,New Mom's group

We went to the new mom's support group today and so we had to go in costume. Connor was a pirate baby...I "made/assembled" the costume.

Wine tasting at 3 weeks

Since Mom and Dad were getting a little stir crazy, and our friend, Gio's winery was having an event we headed out to our first major family outing. We went to "Swine and Wine" at Russian River Vineyard. It was a pork cook out with lots of wine, warm weather, and music. Connor did great on the 2 hr drive up and slept through most of the event. It was a nice day trip. Mom and Dad were exhausted afterward so thankfully Connor slept well through the night that night.

2 week photo shoot

We took some photos of Connor this week and tried to be photographers, he is a great subject but mom and dad need to learn to be better photographers.

Baby cousins, Cameron and Connor

Katie and Cameron came to visit on Tuesday. Connor is 16 days and Cemron is about 2 and a half months. They were both awake and not nursing at the same time so we got a quick moment to take a snapshot.
